karen's body beautiful

I've been reading the rave reviews for Karen's Body Beautiful on the hair boards for a while. Everyone seems to particularly have really good results with the hair milk. But, I hate ordering things online that I haven't tried yet. Why? First, because you have to pay shipping. And second, you don't even know if the product will work. Most online beauty companies don't accept returns on used products if they don't work for you, and if they do, you have to pay return shipping. So I went over a year lusting after these products but still refusing to purchase them online.

I finally made a trip to NY to visit my friend from college last month and I knew I had to make it to KBB in Brooklyn. It was seriously one of the first places on my list. And to think we almost didn't even make it there! We had a "Brooklyn" day where we were going to hit all the spots in BK that I wanted to go to, but we got lost on the subway and somehow ended up in Queens. So that off set things a lot. We hit one store on my list and we going to grab a bite at Maggie Moo's on Myrtle Avenue that my friend had been wanting to try, and what did we walk by on our way? KBB! It must have been fate.

First, I have to say that the store is beyond cute and it smells divine. I'm usually a little bit fragrance sensitive, but her products are all natural so it's not that artifical perfumey smell. They make all of their products in their store front which I think is so cute. The women have beautiful hair. I'm talking about that thick, luscious, shiny, soft afro hair that I love. They suggested the milk and hair butter for my hair which is beyond dry. I got them both in the coco lime scent that smells good enough to eat (I love anything coconut). This hair milk is the business. It's the only product that makes my hair soft, and keeps it soft for a couple of days. The hair butter is good, but I'm not sure if I would repurchase. It comes in a jar, and it's kind of solid in form. You scoop a little out, emulsify it in your hands, and it melts into an oily texture. It seems like makes my hair a little bit greasy, so I use it mainly on my ends. I need to play around with it some more because it would probably make a good sealant once you apply your moisturizing product. So the jury is still out on that one.

Bottom line: I definitely plan to purchase the hair milk again. I discovered that they offer free shipping with a minimum purchase of $75, so I'll probably order about four hair milks and one hair cream which I would like to try. That will keep me stocked for a while.
